VIBRATORY, WALK-BEHIND ROLLERS

VIBRATORY, WALK-BEHIND ROLLERS

Walk-behind vibratory rollers for asphalt compaction

CIMEX single-drum walk-behind vibratory rollers with forward and reverse travel are designed for compacting asphalt on footpaths, cycle paths and parking areas. Their compact layout makes them useful where larger rollers cannot gain access.

Compact equipment for restricted spaces

The operator guides the roller from behind rather than riding on it. Drum weight and vibration work together to compact the surface. Reverse travel helps with repeated passes in small work areas, subject to the machine’s operating instructions and sufficient operator clearance.

Typical applications

  • Pedestrian areas and narrow asphalt paths.
  • Cycle paths and small parking spaces.
  • Local asphalt repairs with restricted access.

Choosing a walk-behind roller

Compare drum width, operating weight, vibration specifications, travel controls and transport requirements. Check that the model is suitable for the material and layer being placed. Access width alone is not enough: the operator also needs safe clearance from walls, edges and obstacles.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a hand-held roller?

No. “Walk-behind roller” is the correct equipment term. The machine runs on its drum while the operator controls it from behind.

Does rolling seal the asphalt?

The machine compacts asphalt; it does not apply a sealant. Correct temperature and the specified compaction procedure are still necessary.

Can it replace a large road roller?

It is intended for smaller and restricted-access areas. Choose equipment according to project scale, required compaction and the surface specification.
