Air compressors for pneumatic tools and workshop use
CIMEX air compressors supply compressed air for suitable pneumatic tools and equipment in construction, vehicle refinishing, furniture production and other workshop applications. Select the compressor according to the air demand, working pressure and power supply required by your equipment.
Single-phase and three-phase compressors
The range includes single-phase and three-phase electric compressors. Check the voltage, phase and installation requirements of the specific model before ordering. A three-phase machine requires a compatible supply and cannot simply be connected to an ordinary single-phase socket.
Piston compressors and air receivers
Piston compressors are also known as reciprocating compressors. Models may use one or more cylinders. The storage tank is called an air receiver, and its capacity is stated in litres. Receiver size, compressor output and working pressure describe different characteristics; a larger tank alone does not mean a higher continuous air output.
How to choose an air compressor
- Working pressure: match the tool requirement and never exceed the ratings of hoses, fittings or connected equipment.
- Air delivery: compare output at the required pressure. Intake displacement and free air delivery are not interchangeable figures.
- Receiver capacity: choose a tank suited to the pattern of use, while also checking the compressor’s output and duty cycle.
- Power supply: confirm electrical compatibility and starting requirements.
- Air quality: painting and other sensitive applications may require appropriate moisture removal and filtration.
Pressure, flow and receiver capacity vary by model. Use the individual product specifications rather than assuming that every CIMEX compressor has an 8 bar rating or the same tank-size range.
Frequently asked questions
Is tank capacity the same as air output?
No. Receiver capacity describes stored volume, while air delivery describes how much air the compressor supplies over time.
Will any compressor run my pneumatic tool?
No. Check the tool’s pressure and air-consumption requirements, the compressor’s rated output and the intended duty cycle.
What should I check before use?
Follow the model’s manual for installation, ventilation, inspection, condensate draining and maintenance. Isolate power and release pressure as instructed before servicing.
